Organised by Dessert Association Singapore (DAS) along with Reed Exhibitions, the inaugural Singapore Gelato Championship aims to create new culinary trends and raise the level of creativity and professionalism by showcasing Singapore's finest gelato craftsman.
DAS represent the voice of Singapore’s dessert industry and is firmly committed to the growth and development through education and networking opportunities. The organisation represents the interest of members that are in the retail, wholesale, and catering of desserts.
Through this one day competition, the organisers hope to further spread the culture of gelato, an artisan frozen dessert to the general public.
The Singapore Gelato Championship will take place during SEAsia Café Expo, which will be held at Marina Bay Sands on August 28, 2019.

What would the Singapore Gelato Championship entail?
Participant can prepare the gelato mix onsite or offsite using ingredients provided by DAS or their own or both.
But the CHURNING of the gelato has to be done on-site. There will be a batch freezer onsite to freeze the prepared gelato mix into gelato.
They will then present their gelato in a 5-litre tub (approx. 3.5kg) after churning on-the-spot to impress the Technical Jury Panel as well as the Public Jury.
The contestant with the best flavor will earn the title of “SINGAPORE’S BEST GELATO”.
